Jonathan Brochu

With over 25 years of experience in business law, Jonathan Brochu joined JGW Business and Tax Law Inc. as counsel in May 2026. A trusted partner to entrepreneurs and business leaders, he brings extensive expertise gained in both private practice and in-house roles, enabling him to quickly understand their challenges and offer practical solutions tailored to their business needs. Previously a partner and co-head of the business law department at a major Montréal law firm, Jonathan led numerous significant mergers and acquisitions, working closely with his clients’ presidents, vice-presidents and external advisors. He subsequently spent seven years at Lobe, serving in the strategic roles of Vice-President, Development and Senior Advisor to the President. Having supported young lawyers and managers throughout his career, Jonathan now mentors the next generation of lawyers at JGW. Known for his thoroughness, attentive listening, practical approach and ability to make complex issues accessible, Jonathan advises businesses on their day-to-day needs, transactions, commercial agreements and corporate governance matters.
